Appreciation of our diverse talents

At TUM School of Management, we welcome all our members irrespective of their ethnicity, gender, abilities, cultural background, religion or belief, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, lifestyle, age, interests and experiences. We want to create an environment in which we appreciate our members’ diverse perspectives and learn from these insights. We do not only comply with all diversity efforts of the Technical University of Munich, but our school also has numerous diversity ambassadors available for you in the different departments and across our locations.

OUR MISSION IN DIVERSITY

The Diversity Ambassadors aim to create and nurture a climate of respect, fairness, and inclusion at the of TUM School of Management.

We promote diversity because it enriches us culturally and socially and fosters excellent learning and research results. We strive for an academic environment where everyone’s contributions are appreciated - irrespective of their ethnicity, gender, abilities, cultural background, religion or belief, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, lifestyle, age, interests and experiences.
 

We offer advice and support to all school members, such as students, academics, and administrative staff. We are also available for potential future members. In case of conflict, we do our best to provide you with assistance. Feel free to contact us!

Support

A wide range of funding opportunities is available to address the special challenges and needs of various target groups along TUM’s diversity dimensions. One important goal is to encourage female academics at the qualification levels doctorate and postdoctoral/habilitation. A second is to make valuable academic insights on diversity-related issues available to a broad audience. In addition to the general scholarships available at Technical University of Munich, TUM School of Management provides two possebilities for further support:

 

Diversity Promotion Fund

The Diversity Promotion Fund offers the following measures:

 

  • Travel grants for research-related trips and conferences for female junior academics
  • Sponsoring workshops and events on diversity-related topics
  • Sponsoring the invitation of guest speakers
  • Grants for printing books a and submission fees for articles targeted to international peer-reviewed journals for female junior academics
  • Support for editing costs for English-language journal submissions for female junior academics
  • Support for postdoctoral researchers in project application through hiring of a student assistant
  • Reward for transfer of diversity-related research results for interested persons inside and outside the academic community
