Alejandro Lopez-Lira is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Florida's Warrington College of Business. His research focuses on the intersection of fintech, machine learning, and asset pricing, with recent work pioneering the application of large language models to financial markets. He earned his Ph.D. in Finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and holds previous degrees from ITAM.
His research has been published in The Review of Financial Studies and Economics Letters and has received multiple prestigious awards, including the Quoniam Innovation in Data-driven Investing Prize and the BlackRock Prize for Best Paper in Funds Management and Capital Markets. Lopez-Lira's current work spans artificial intelligence applications in finance, risk analysis, and cross-sectional return prediction.
