We are offering new Assistant Professorships with Tenure Track at our Campus in Munich
The Technical University of Munich (TUM) invites applications for the position of
Tenure Track Assistant Professor in »Entrepreneurial Management«
to begin as soon as possible. The position is a W2 fixed-term (6-year) tenure-track professorship with the possibility for promotion to a tenured W3 position. The professorship is endowed by the Dieter Schwarz Stiftung and will be located at TUM Campus Munich-Garching.
Scientific Environment
The professorship will be assigned to the TUM School of Management and located at TUM`s Garching Campus as part of the School’s Entrepreneurship Research Institute (ERI). The TUM School of Management is one of the leading management schools in Germany and internationally. Our focus in research and teaching is at the interface of management and technology, where we aim to make a real impact. Our faculty members publish regularly in leading journals relevant to the school’s departments Finance & Accounting, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Strategy and Leadership, Economics and Policy and Operations & Technology and maintain close ties in interdisciplinary research with other schools and industry.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include research and teaching, third party funding acquisition, as well as the promotion of early-career scientists. We seek to appoint an expert in the research area of Entrepreneurial Management. Applications from a variety of specializations are welcomed, e.g., management of start-ups and emerging enterprises, management of enterprise growth, and management of entrepreneurial change in well established companies. Teaching responsibilities include courses in the school’s bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs, particularly in the Bachelor in Management & Technology, the Master in Management & Technology, and the Master in Management. Contributions to interdisciplinary programs offered by other Schools are also to be expected. Courses in entrepreneurial prototyping and entrepreneurial management in growing ventures are of special interest to the School.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who have demonstrated initial scientific achievements and the capacity for independent research at the highest international level. A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification, as well as pedagogical aptitude, are prerequisites. Courses in R&D Strategy, Technology Management, and Technology Commercialization are of special interest to the School.

We will be offering new Assistant Professorships with Tenure Track at our Campus in Munich
We invite applications from promising candidates who exhibit strong potential for outstanding research and teaching in Operations Research in combination with AI. We particularly welcome applicants whose research focuses on developing new methods or innovative applications of OR/AI methods to relevant problems, e.g., in manufacturing, services, transportation, logistics, supply chains, and healthcare.
We invite applications from scholars whose research and teaching focuses on marketing, particularly with a focus on quantitative methods and technologies. Relevant areas include AI applications for marketing such as generative AI for content creation, predictive analytics, social media, and human-AI interfaces. We also welcome work on emerging technologies including VR/AR and immersive experiences, platform economics, AI-powered marketing systems using multi-modal data for markets and society
Postdoctoral Positions 2026
Our offer:
We are pleased to launch a call financed through the Dieter Schwarz Foundation offering the possibility for up to two full-time Postdoctoral positions at TUM School of Management. The payment is granted for a period of up to 2 years. The conditions of employment follow the rules of the German tariffs of public services at level E 14 TV-L.
